Why an Independent Councillor? Because I am! I'm not restricted by party policies and dogma. I can get on and help fix things. I can go where I need to and talk to whoever I feel will help me help you.

1. I'm a problem solver As founder and managing director of a creative brand consultancy (www.bang-on.net), I've spent all my working life helping people (clients) sort their business challenges. This is a skill I can bring to the fore to help find effective solutions for the Lostwithiel District communities' challenges.

2. I'm a good communicator Having worked within many businesses and market sectors, I've had to learn to absorb and understand information fast in order to be able to contribute to the creation and delivery of ideas and strategies that answer the brief. Again this skill will enable me to help arrive at potential solutions to our communities' needs. And we can do it faster and smarter.

3. I'm a good networker At the sharp end of business you have to be able to meet and mix with a wide variety of backgrounds, skills and seniority. I worked on the launch of Dolly the sheep and DNA fingerprinting. I helped create the websites for No 10 and the Queen. And I created the national strategy to help asthma sufferers and carers handle their symptoms more effectively. On these types of projects I learned how to source and bring together the best people to get the job done. This is another skill I believe will be crucial for your next County Councillor.

4. I'm a good husband and parent Well I hope I am! Living on Bodmin Hill Lostwithiel with my wife and 8 year old boy, running our business from home, I understand what we need to ensure we build a strong community to provide a safe and secure environment in which to grow up and grow older.
